Bangkok Street |
||
| Old
Bangkok was once called the
"Venice of the East". Comprised of a series of canals,
today much of Bangkok has been
filled in and many of the smaller canals
hopelessly polluted. The days get very steamy, so when visiting,
take in the temples and palace early.
When ready for lunch, be sure to sample the glorious street food,
or head to one of the riverside restaurants. You'll notice a
fragrant blend of hot, sweet, sour, salty and sometimes bitter flavours
that make Thai food one of the world's most distinctive and popular.
And lemongrass, a greyish green tropical grass/herb, is frequently
used to flavor
soups, salads and curries. Our ode to this wonderful city is a blend of crisp Japanese Sencha with aromatic lemongrass and citrusy orange peel. The combination of citrus with the delicate green creates a brew that's light, golden colour, fragrant and oh so sweet. "Sawasdee." |
