Legend says this tea is named for the British Prime Minister, Earl Grey, who is believed to have saved the life of a Mandarin, during a diplomatic mission in China. As a way of saying 'thank you', he was given the recipe for this flavored tea. As well as using it in his own household, the Prime Minister allowed a London tea merchant to sell it to selected customers. As a result, this is one of the most popular scented teas in the world today. This tea is a blend of China and Ceylon blacks lightly flavored with oil of bergamot for a refreshing citrus flavor. The wonderful restorative quality of this tea will help you face the day. It has a golden red liquor and well-balanced flavor. |
