"Now bring us some figgy pudding, Now bring us some figgy pudding, Now bring us some figgy pudding, And a cup of good cheer!" F iggy pudding dates back to 16th century England. It is known to us mainly because of the Christmas carol "We Wish You A Merry Christmas," which indicates that it might have been a traditional Christmas dessert served to carolers. These savory puddings (or desserts) were thick, rich, sweet concoctions either baked or boiled and served in bowls over which thick heavy cream would be poured. We don’t know about the cream, but we do know this blend replicates the rich, sweetness that would have been enjoyed.
Whether you go out caroling or not, we hope you enjoy this exceptional blend of black leaves with dried figs, dates and raisins. Available through the holidays only! "We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" |
