Gopaldhara Estate Darjeeling (2nd Flush) |
||
|
High in the lush Himalayan hills lies the Gopaldhara Estate, at an elevation of over 7,000 ft.. This is one of the highest tea estates in Darjeeling. Established in 1881, the name Gopaldhara comes from the Hindu names 'Gopal', the beloved god-child of Hindu mythology and 'dhara', stream of fresh and pure spring water. The name embodies the company's philosophy which is "to provide pure tea, fit to be appreciated even by the Gods." Known for their distinctive "Muscatel" fragrance, Darjeelings are referred to as the "champagne of teas". After a brief rest from first flush pluckings, the second flushes plucked May through July, have a purplish appearance, with silvery tips. The brew in this FTGFOP grade has a deep golden colour, with smooth, pronounced character and almost floral aroma. We hope you enjoy this exceptional Darjeeling as much as we do. |
