Lascaux Teapot

This teapot is inspired by the Lascaux Cave in southwestern France. The Lascaux Cave was discovered in 1940 by three teenagers and has become one of the most renowned archaeological discoveries of the 20th Century. This teapot depicts the drawings in the cave that were created during the Upper Paleolithic Age or about 17,000 years ago. A replica of the cave has been created in the vicinity to the original cave, where two of the galleries have been reproduced: the Great Hall of the Bulls and the Painted Gallery.

Because each teapot is individually handcrafted, variations in design and glazing will occur. The large, sleek handle is easy to grip. Not only beautiful, but practical with a ceramic infuser basket. 6" high, 21 oz. capacity.
