LimonScotti |

Dining
beneath an outdoor canopy in Salerno, around a table with friends and
family and sipping a glass of the chilled citrus liqueur, limoncello… ahhh,
summers in Italy.
Limoncello is a liqueur made from fermented lemons. Legend
has it that the origins of limoncello were developed by nuns in the
16th century using
fermented spices, aromatic plants, and fruits. It didn’t take long
before people learned to soak the lemon peel in alcohol with sugar to create
this delightful infusion which soon became a fashionable and delicious
liqueur to enjoy well-chilled on a hot summer night. |
