Mojito Madness |
||
| From
the African word "mojo" which means "to place a spell" comes the
word most of us have become familiar with "Mojito". Although
an English pirate is credited with concocting this popular beverage in
the 1500s, it wasn't until the famous LaBodeguita del Medio bar in Cuba
started serving it to ex-pats in the 1930s did it really become popular.
This
intoxicating
beverage of rum, sugar, lime and mint soon became the drink of choice
ith Havana's hipsters. We've taken out the rum and used Japanese Sencha as the base. With tart, tangy, citrusy lime and freshly chopped peppermint, we think our "mojito" can rival the original. This brew has a golden liquor and very aromatic bouquet. An excellent tea to be enjoyed with friends. And should you want the "adult" version, add rum and serve over crushed ice. Delicious!! |
