Not far from Shanghai, the city of Yixing, in the Jiangsu Province, has for been creating teapots for 2000 years. Now, as then, each piece is shaped by hand and left unglazed. Made from the most porous clay, it is said that the flavor of the tea is enhanced when brewed in an Yixing teapot. These distinctive clay pots are considered true collectibles.
