Rooibos |

![]() |
Pronounced roy-bus,
which is African for red
bush, Rooibos
is often referred to as "red tea" because
when fermented, its needle-like leaves turn a rich, red colour. Because Rooibos
is naturally caffeine-free, it can be enjoyed by those who want to
avoid the stimulating effects of caffeine.
And, because
it does not have to be subjected to a decaffeination process, it does not lose
any of its polyphenol content (which does occur when green and black teas are
decaffeinated). For
centuries, South Africans have used this caffeine-free herb to calm digestive
upsets, to help induce sleep, and topically to sooth eczema, skin allergies,
and diaper rash. This unflavored, unscented Rooibos is perfect for your evening cup. Brews red with a delicate, not overpowering flavor. |
